"Humans shed 26 ounces of dead skin each year," says Hugh. "Most of this ends up in your bed!"

This dead skin attracts microscopic mites called ‘GENUS DERMATOPHAGOIDS’, which feed on it. These organisms (approximately 400 fit on a pinhead) breed profusely and scientists estimate that one double bed will sustain between 4 and 6 billion of these creatures. It is their excrement that causes allergies in humans. The only known remedy to eradicate these mites is 20 minutes exposure to the UV rays of the sun.
